DESCRIPTION: We are just past the 25th anniversary of the Interspiritual paradigm, named at the turn of this Century by Br. Wayne Teasdale and four other renowned global interfaith pioneers. Marking this anniversary is a new two volume thematic and chronological history of Interspirituality with contributions by over 120 global interfaith leaders-- opening message by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Foreword by Matthew Fox (one of the namers of the paradigm) and Afterword by Colorado's own Ken Wilber. The paradigm is also so familiar to Coloradoans because of the central role of Fr. Thomas Keating, host of the decades long Snowmass Dialogues from his Snowmass Abbey which resulted in the Nine Points of Agreement Among the World's Religions. In my sharing we'll explore what the original interspiritual pioneers envisioned and how things have turned out a bit differently. We'll also look at the four areas of emphasis for the future that the over 120 contributors to these two new historic volumes suggest is the direction things must go for our world to have a thriving global future. Our discussion will be right in line with your theme for May: Awakening Curiosity - Exploring New Perspectives

Based in Aspen, CO, Mark represents a modern take on the one-man band. Drawing on his previous roles as vocalist / guitarist for both Hurricane Carter and Opera House Arson, his solo material is rootsy, spans multiple genres, and deeply explores looping multiple parts live. Lesser-known covers accentuate his original material in an eclectic, engaging set. Between appearances at local landmarks like Belly Up and TACAW, he's also shared the stage with artists such as Lukas Nelson, Gov’t Mule, Perpetual Groove, Greyhounds, Hayes Carll, Adrian Belew, Devon Allman, South of France, and ALO.

Material Haiku MMXXVI by Gaby Oshiro turns her divergent exploration on the evocative power of materials, techniques, and the balance between; subtraction-addition, destruction-creation, chaos-order. A painting is an aesthetic object with its own expressive power that acquires ontological status. Kindred Spirits is a two-person exhibition by ceramic artist Christine Anderson and abstract painter Benjamin Strawn who share a forty-plus year friendship centered on the exploration and interplay of artistic ideas. Their work embodies their shared creative vision, their love and care for each other, and their emotive depth.
The opening reception will be Friday, April 17 from 5-7pm with an artist talk beginning at 5:30pm. Both shows are on display through May 21.
